MUMBAI: A doctor and some other staff members at the St George's Hospital have been booked for not treating a patient for nine hours.
A man found at CST with both legs mutilated was taken to the hospital by an assistant police sub-inspector on Thursday. The patient remained unconscious for nine hours and subsequently was identified as Suresh Sartape (45) of Kasara.
The hospital made the police officer, Eknath Ugale, sit next to the patient and asked him to wait for his relatives. Ugale, attached to the GRP at CST, complained at the MRA Marg police station against the hospital.
Ugale had received a call around 12.30 pm on Thursday about the injured and sick passenger lying on platform number 16 at CST.
Ugale said in his statement that "Dr Avinash and others" did not admit the patient till 9.30pm.
